Happy Thursday, Groovy Groupies!
This is such an exciting week here at StampInsanity Stamps - we are revealing our first-ever Katie for a Cure set, designed for and benefitting Breast Cancer warriors and survivors and the Susan G. Komen foundation. StampInsanity will be donating the proceeds from sales of this set – so tell your friends! You can read more about my personal motivation for this set here – or visit the Katie tab at the top of the page. Katie purchases and additional donations can be made at the SI Store. Please feel free to grab one of our Katie badges and share in our mission!
ALSO, we are SO thrilled to be teaming up with the FABULOUS ladies over at the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge blog for this release! This design team is incredible and includes our very own über-Groovies, Juanita & Jennifer! Thank you so very much, Juanita, for offering and being such a huge part of organizing this collaboration!

Happy Thursday, Groovy Groupies! Are those of you on the East Coast enjoying this cool, crisp weather? In that case – this week’s challenge is just for YOU!
This week we are continuing on with our little celebration of summer ~ by letting our minds be inspired by WATER! Do you immediately think of a pool, with the cool aqua & white tones? Or the tropical turquoise and white sand beaches? Or are you a Northern girl and think about the sea foam green seas and the darker sand of the rocky shores? Tell us about it and let your Grooviness carry you away!
Without further ado… Here are the fabulous Groovy Gurlz’ projects!

HAPPY Thursday, Groovy Groupies!!
Normally I would be amazed at how time has flown, but WOW! I didn’t think Thursday would ever get here!! This is such a fun challenge this week – fantastic samples from the amazing Groovies and (*pats self on back*) it’s a fun challenge with infinite possibilities! I have a little sketch to go along with this one, too ~ but as always, I highly encourage you to GO NUTS, and make it your own!
Yes, I completely acknowledge that it is a silly name for a challenge, but since I make it my life’s work to sound like a goofball, I ran with it!
) I’m not even sure what exactly a ‘Bottom Dollar’ is… any theories? Just like it sounds, it was inspired by the almighty DOLLAR! In general, they are all similarly sized around the world, and all very decorative! I like the unique size and shape of the currency… in particular, I was looking at a new $10 USD, which has that peachy tint to it, and the off-centered oval. SO… break out of your standard-card-sized boxes and let’s make some magic!
Here’s the sketch…

Happy Thursday, Groovy Groupies!
This week is going to be so much fun! Our own DT Queen Margie came up with this delish recipe, and as always, the Gurlz completely crushed it!
The challenge is this: Use black paper, pearls, and a skull on your project… OH, the possibilities! Are you sitting? Of course you are…
This week’s lineup has some of the coolest color combinations and some really clever details! Par for the course with this group, though, right? Here we go, the Groovies’ awesome samples for this week!

This week we are on SIS Challenge #12 ~ Kickin’ Korners. (By now, you MUST be used to my affinity for playing with words!)
The challenge goes like this… take the sketch below, and come up with some groovy cool way to spice up those big empty corners! As always, we highly encourage you to GO NUTS!
Here is the sketch: (Better late than never! Sorry early readers!)

Happy Thursday, Groovy Groupies! Got lots of fun stuff for you this week! First, we have some new releases, one that should remind you of a certain love triangle… or not! It is called What The Heart Wants. And another set of immortally inspired rubber sentiments! If you liked Otherworldly Loves, you will completely dig Simply Supernatural!

PLUS – we have a special Tweaked Technique from published art author, Roni Johnson! You can find other fabulous techniques on her blog, Ink Stains, or in her book! Be sure to check out her site for more info!!
NOW! On with the Tweaking… This is a tweak on the shaving cream technique, and it presents all sorts of insanely cool possibilities for texture and pattern! Give it a try – we CAN’T WAIT to see what you come up with!
Mousse Me! Supplies:
Mousse * Dye Reinker * White Cardstock * Heat Tool or Embossing Gun * Gloves (optional) * Scraper, Craft Spatula, Popsicle Stick (optional)
Instructions:
-
Spread a layer of mousse over your cardstock.
-
Add one drop of ink to the mousse. Spread around in circular motions with your fingers, scrapper, craft spatula, popsicle stick, etc. Don’t over blend.
-
Melt the mousse with a heat tool. You will notice as the mousse begins to melt the ink will be absorbed into the cardstock in some really cool patterns.
-
Repeat with 2nd and 3rd color(s) if desired.
Soooo… This week we are challenging you to try out the Mousse Me technique, (or another technique you choose to share!), and create your own background! It is so easy to get wrapped up in designing around your paper – make your paper fit your design!! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Here are the Groovies with their amazing-as-always projects!
