spring21 copy Are you a Gleek? I couldn't resist adding this senti to the card. I cannot wait for this show to come back!
Anywhoo... This is another Springtime Morgan, and I decided she needed one of those cute dye-drop sundresses. I love coloring her. She makes me smile. :)

More importantly, there is still time to get your submissions in for the Groovy Gurlz! Visit the main page/Bulletin Board for the Designers Desired link! Things are shaping up to be tons of fun - not your average DT, that's my only goal! Until I see you again... I am off to make some impossible decisions!spring22

Super quick hits: I used colored pencils, Goo Be Gone, and some blending stumps. I used a few light shades of Copics to finish out the blending. :)

Have a great weekend!!!

I Am SO Ready For Spring!

authorBeth | February 26, 2010

Well, sort of.  I do feel more than a little gypped that we only got three of the four blizzards that smacked the Mid-Atlantic…  Oh well.  More snow than I have seen in a long time, so I suppose I am ready to move on to spring…  And this image is the perfect boost to my spring fever! spring1 This is the latest in the Henry and Morgan series, Springtime Morgan.  I want to take my shoes off and chase butterflies, don’t you?  I used one of the digi-sentis that come with her, because really – Butterflies ARE self-propelled flowers!  spring2 She is available at stamphappens.com, of course.  While you are there, you need to check out the new Copics color groups that Tonya has put together!  Taking the guesswork out of which colors to buy to coordinate and shade? Priceless!

Anyhoo… I had a lot of fun with this image, and I did a TON of coloring!  So, I have a few more samples to share… It is a different look for me, but it’s a keeper!  The name of the game is trying new things and going for new looks.  So be watching for that!

Finally, I KNOW by now you have heard the holler for GroovyGurlz.  If not, go here and then get your groove on!   We have a lot of cool things planned, and loads of fun to share!  Stay tuned!

Until I see you again…

4.   Do this by 11:59pm EST on Friday, March 5th.   Newest GroovyGurlz will be announced on Monday, March 8th.  Please be patient – we will let you know if you have been selected.  And while we anticipate a difficult decision – there will be Guest GroovyGurl (G3) spots opening up and we will keep your names for that selection when the time comes!

Thanks for your entries and we cant wait to see your works of heart!

Saying Good-Bye to an Old Friend… With a BLOG HOP!

authorBeth | February 16, 2010

imageSad to say, but Twilight Tuesday is closing up shop this week.  I was there in the beginning, when it was just a couple of crafty girls and a good book to inspire us… and look where we ended up!  Today is a very bittersweet day, to say the least.  I have met some of THE most AMAZING people because of this book and challenge. I will spare you the gushing, and get on with the show… Our theme this week is from Rebecca and it will go down as one of my favorites.  Book Love.

Love of books, the printed words on a page, is what brought us all together.
Create a project: that uses printed text: a page from a magazine, book, dictionary, etc. within your project, as the background or focal point.
Comment portion: I love to read the newspaper online but nothing beats a printed newspaper on Sunday mornings. And no matter how hard I try, I can't abandon books (hardcover, softcover, or paperback) to a digital reader. Are you totally digital or do you prefer a good old fashioned printed page in your hands?

Here’s my final Twilight project:

ttic final

I wanted to celebrate the book that brought us together.  My love affair with books is well known, and I am surprisingly okay with digital readers.  I am giving my Kindle a workout, for sure, but I will always have hard copies of my favorites.  Greatestgift bookThere is no replacing the feel and smell, and that ‘rush’ when you flip a page at a critical point.  One of life’s greatest gifts is a good book.  I don’t see that being replaced by any digital media anytime soon!

What do you think of the e-reader revolution?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

For this project, I dug out last summer’s Morgan’s Love set – I couldn’t imagine using anything else.  This is exactly what I had in mind when I designed it!  In fact, it was hard to choose just one sentiment for this, but I didn’t want to overdo.  (Yes, for once, I exercised restraint!)  Plus, the paper is fabulous and I wanted that to show through as well.

What is also fabulous is that this is a blog candy stop!  By leaving your opinions on the e-readers, or maybe even my project… you are eligible to win the Director’s Notebook, with the inside scoop on the making of Twilight.  This is full of fun facts and behind the scenes photos – and the fact that you will find lots of shots of Edward will be a bonus for you Team Edward-types… :)

So you’ve just visited Dani, now I shuffle you off to Alison’s blog… you are sure to find something very cool over there!

Multi-Challenging Again! …TT60 & MTSC57 for those of you keeping score!

authorBeth | January 20, 2010

maddie2 I hit up TwiTuesday and Mercy Kerin for challenges this week.  There are so many to choose from!  Without much blather… here is another card that I really love!  And, yes, she would make a lovely little vamp girl, but… well, not sure the Hub would get it!  And since it’s a valentine card he may likely get… LOL   Quick Hits:  The Twilight Tuesday challenge was from super sweet Erica Johnson-Wanzer, who challenged us to tap the emotional quality to the color red ~ maddie3appropriate for the upcoming ‘holiday’, and of course, vampires.  (Side note:  How ironic that I am listening to Vampire Weekend as I type this!)  And, the lovely and talented Mercy Kerin provides great sketch layouts every week.

I bought this fabric-ish paper, with flocked brocade type patterns laid into it… so in order to not hide  the fabulosity of it, I cut Maddie out… yes, every freaking strand of hair!  And then I elevated her so that she remained the focal point, since I did use very deep and similar shades in my papers.  I took this picture over here –> to show you that I am indeed a dweeb, and actually curled up the individual locks of hair.  So there!  All of you who insist there is no girly-girl within me!  :D  That’s a big nanner-nanner from classy me!  Anywhoo… juvenile moment expired…  You will notice that I finally decided to get this Martha border punch.  My friend, Jen, has been doing rad things with it for months, and for some reason, every time I would pick it up in the store, it just never felt right.  (We already established that I am, in fact, a dweeb.)  I finally went and did it.  And now, I completely see this as a Gothic, wrought iron type element…  Ooh la la!  Maddie will sprout her fangs again soon, methinks!  I suppose I should allow Zeke to flex his choppers, too.  Anyhow… Got your Zeke and Maddie yet???
