Mojo-licious Morgan & the *Insane* Garage Sale!
Ok, REALLY late with the Mojo Monday sketch this week. Notice it is not called Mojo THURSDAY. *sigh* Sometimes life just gets in the way of The Craft.
StOOpid real life. Anyway, this is Mojo #112, and the layout looks like this:
Mojo-licious Morgan is part of my new set, Naughty & Nice, and I love her! I changed the sketch up a little, and made it a 4.25” square, mainly to accommodate my small scalloped circle! (When I made this, I was CuttleBug-less… if you follow me on Facebook, you got that,uh, humorous tale!) SO, I was not able to use my Nesties to get a bigger portion of Morgan! But, you know, she is just as lovely cropped down, though – and I really like this card. Have I mentioned lately just how much I love the concept of sketch challenges? In fact, after I finish up with you fine folks, I am off to tackle one (or four) of Dani’s Twilight Tuesday Sketch Challenges.
Back on topic – I used some gorgeous BoBunny paper that Tonya sent me from her StampHappens shop – and another quick aside… I have finally figured out my problem with picking out paper! I didn’t have HER doing it for me!! This stuff is the BOMB! Go look. I eyeballed the panels and shaved them down until I liked the proportions, and added the embellies that you see. Those are Vanilla brads and Flower loops from Stampin’ Up’s HodgePodge Hardware kit – very cool stuff, that! I love the look of the vanilla hardware – and it is exactly the same shade as in the BB paper. So convenient!
I also played with the Goo-B-KIN technique – remember that? Test your recall… yep, the Goo-Be-Gone that Jacquie shared with me a bit ago, and the Koh-I-Noor pencils. Still digging that technique, although I desperately need to get to the art store for a better selection of skin tones!
Moving on – literally. You may have noticed that I added a Garage Sale page to the site… well, very literally, I am unloading the garage! I have hundreds of sets of stamps that are just neglected out there, and taking up valuable space… space that the Realtor will tell us needs to be used for better things. *gasp* So, I will routinely update this page with whatever sets I can get through for the day… so a good plan would be to RSS it, or bookmark it, because there will be a TON of stuff going up in the next several weeks! Beyond stamps, I have papers, tools (I am a little famous for buying tools I already had…) and various other goodies. In particular, I have a sloo of alterable items. Things that never got altered because I never remembered them when planning my Stamp Camps back in my SU demo days! I also have this wooden rack, custom built for SU ink pads and reinkers – unfinished (by that I mean ‘not painted’) and never used! Paid a ton for it, but you will get it cheap-o when I get up here! Definitely worth keeping an eye on. You may even find a hidden SI treasure or two… You just never know! Gotta keep things interesting!
Before I go play with my new Big Shot, (Nesties, here I come!) I must ask – have you signed up for the Twilight Tuesday New Moon Blog Hop? Huge fun – if you haven’t signed up, you must! And if you can’t – come visit TT.com on New Moon day (November 20, but you already knew that, didn’t you?) and make the HOPpy rounds and see all the New Moon inspired projects! It is sure to be a TON of fun – ROCK STARS of the stamping world will be playing and featured and oh-so-much more! Click the banner for all the details:
Until next time, Savor the Insanity! :)
