The Almighty Chocolate… and a Get Well Wish for Gramps
Yeah- THAT got your attention, no?! Did I mention that I am on a collaging bender? I totally am. That whole Rhage brain blast ~ the Tootsie Pop wrapper bg and all… I started something. I am suddenly shopping for COOL LOOKING CANDY WRAPPERS! Not cute tees, funky jeans or hot kicks – nope. Candy. I am so cool, it is astonishing. Egads… BUT ~ I did come up with this one. Not quite as cool as Rhage, but that card also had the smokin’ hot guy going for it. Let’s be honest. ![]()
Anyway – remember when I suggested that Elmer’s glue would probably work just as well? Let me amend that just a bit – I found what I thought was going to be ultra cool… CLEAR (think gel) Elmer’s school glue. Well, I don’t know if it is the clear part or the school part that makes this not work, but it didn’t really behave as I would have liked. (I am leaning towards the ‘clear’ part, btw) It is just too ‘thin’ and didn’t really hold the papers down like the Mod Podge does. It did give me a super shiny finish, though. Who cares that I was really wanting a matte finish. I’ll get over it – since I cannot eat candy fast enough to have wrappers for another try any time soon! I still think the regular glue might work as well as the Mod Podge, but I will have to let you know about that!
I based the concept of this card off the sentiment from the SI set, Halloween Henry: “Nothing on Earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night”. How true is that?! (Remember dumping out the candy bag and checking out your loot after the trick-or-treating was done? Good times!) And, I got to play with a new Nesties set! Happy day!

This one, I literally threw together for my Dad, Peyton’s Grampy ~ who once again, broke his foot! He has completed the trifecta! He is a danger to his own feet – I swear! This one, though, is a doozy and will require surgery ~ which will happen today (Monday). That explains the rush job, but on the bright side, I did get to color another Henry! Admittedly, I was too lazy, um, hurried, to print out my sentiment… who out there actually likes their own handwriting? I quite literally cannot stand my own writing. One of those crazy things, I guess… Anyway, I clearly did not consult a sketch anywhere – which are my new favorite things. Sketches are BRILLIANT, and if you haven’t tried one, visit Sketch Girl… that’s a great place to start! As I was saying, my layout leaves much to be desired! But, Henry is cute, so I am ok with it!
***Quick Healing, Dad!*** …like he reads craft blogs…

I love the candy wrappers, it’s perfect for this sentiment…although I don’t remember getting any where nearly enough Reese’ PB cups in my loot bag…and we don’t have Almond Joy here, lol.
here’s to your dad and an easy recovery!
