OutRHAGEous Indeed!
It’s a Black Dagger day! I am loving today – this week’s TT FANDOM Friday challenge is centered on BDB, which in and of itself is good enough to make me smile… but it is RHAGE, baby. Rhage’s story is told in Lover Eternal, the second BDB novel. Rhage is the Brother I want to hang with – he is always ‘up’, and always happy. He jokes – holy cow, he is a prankster!! A centuries old playboy JOKEster VAMPIRE! I know – it sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?! But he is a wonderful character – he is unflinchingly loyal and loving, and he perseveres despite his curse. (You gotta read to find out – but it is a DOOZY!) His interactions are my favorite thing about Rhage – he spars and is always stirring up stuff with his brothers… particularly my boy Vishous. V is the anti-Rhage, so it is extremely comical and endearing. Now, on to my project…
One thing about Rhage that I failed to mention, is that he notoriously ALWAYS has a Tootsie pop either in his mouth, or at the very least, in his possession. So I decided that a good place to start was with the wrappers! And I chose the blue ones, why the grape wrappers are blue is beyond me – but it worked out perfectly since another interesting tidbit about Rhage is that he loves his blue GTO. He also has vibrantly blue eyes. I added brown as an accent – I just like the color combo! Before I forget, I was instructed to share with you that the brown wrapper was ‘donated’ by my son who was feeling “very special” that he could have a part in my project.)
So cute. Anyhow, I collaged the pieces and Mod Podged them to a CS sqaure and the rest is pretty self explanatory. I used the phrase “Beautiful Rhage” for the literal and the abstract translations – he is exquisitely beautiful, and his curse is a beautiful Rhage that we learn to embrace along with him.
The inside sentiment is a hint about Rhage’s curse, but it is so much more than you can divine from this post! You just have to read it!!
I really like the way this card turned out – it is a 5 1/2” square, btw. My only regret is that I cannot tie a decent bow to save my weary soul! *sigh* And finally, I have no idea who the photo is, but he is a very close representation of what I envision Rhage to look like. With a smile and a Tootsie Pop, of course…
Anyhow – don’t forget to visit Alison, and any other players who list their links in the Mr Linky section of the FF post!
