My Very First Mojo Monday – a day late…

I did it! I finally was able to get a project done in time to participate in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge!  These sketch challenges are dreams!  As one who is seriously “layout challenged”, these are straight-up answered prayers!  Where have they been all my crafting life??   Anyway – here is my submission… I took a few small liberties with the sketch, but overall, I think it came out ok.

Also, I tried out a technique that Jacquie turned me on to – blending my pencil shadings with Goo-Be-Gone.  I know!  Sounds interesting, though, right?!  I am thinking this is along the lines of the Gamsol/mineral spirits used on pencil, but this is what I decided to try since she makes it look so good!  Oh, my – I love this!  And my projects have a lovely lemony scent, too…  Tip for that, though – everything in moderation, or you end up with an oily mess!  I love this technique now, and will keep working to perfect it.  Or try to, anyway!  mojo1 *Remember I mentioned the shiny finish I got using the Clear Elmer’s glue?  Henry’s vest is colored a vibrnt green, but the reflection of my flash is too much to see!  An excellent substitute for Crystal Effects – it is a thinner consistency and I found it easier to ‘spread’ within the area I was working.  Just something I stumbled upon… smile_wink

This looks fabulous! I love all of the “stuff” you used! The paper piecing, the Goo Be Gone technique… so cool! I want to do that sketch too… let’s see if I find the time now!

Great job with the sketch! I love the paper piecing you did with Henry’s cape…so very clever!
Goo be Gone wasn’t my favourite, I preferred the baby oil…but finally got some odorless mineral spirits from Tonya, by far the best result and I didn’t have to worry about using too much and getting oil stains on my paper! lol
    TFS :)
